Advantages: Great music Disadvantages: Not as good as being there
..."Passion" is two CD's full of dance music but this time taking a slightly less commercial route than "The best garage anthems" which was released at the same time, being a mix album featuring the MYNC Project on the Redroom disc and JFK on the Blueroom. The club Passion is based in Leicestershire and has been running for over five years featuring top DJ's like JFK and Tony De Vit as well as being nominated for the Muzik Magazine's Club of the Year award and these two CDs convey some of the atmosphere with tracks from Spiller, Embargo and Delerium mixed in with less well known but equally good songs. Not quite as progressive as the last Renaisence CD from Dave Seaman but more good time groove orientated which makes for an enjoyable thirty plus tracks....

Advantages: Miss Geri returns! Hurrah! Disadvantages: Miss Geri doesn't return to form - boo!
...attempts old-fashioned loungeroom singing with 'So I Give Up On Love'. It's a witty enough little ditty which finishes of the album nicely. It's very much along the lines of that fabulous 'The Lady Is A Vamp' - a personal highlight from the 'Spice World' album. My only criticism of it is Geri's voice isn't really smooth enough to carry off a song in this style. But as it's all done with tongue firmly in cheek, we can forgive. She even gets the giggles halfway through!
The title song, 'Passion', opens the album but it's not a great start. It's a torch-song with swooping strings and piano, but really Geri's voice doesn't sound great on it and it just sounds a little... contrived. To be honest, it just sounds like she's trying to be Julie London, but er, not very well.
Overall, this is a really patchy album from Geri. It definitely...

Advantages: fantastic return, outstanding album, love anette's voice Disadvantages: none I can think of
...First of all, I'll start by saying that I was totally stunned - this album is amazing...They've well and truly pulled off a spectacular record. Here's my attempt at a breakdown of the album "Dark Passion Play" track-by-track:
1. The Poet and the Pendulum - WOW. No wonder Tuomas loves this one. It's stunning. Fantastic orchestrations, choir and crunchy guitars. I love how it's split into sections. Love the last part "Mother and Father". Sounds like something he's taken straight from his parents here. Is very moving. Is very Tuomas. ;)
2. Bye Bye Beautiful - Ho boy. Definitely seems to be about Tarja. I like it, despite the slightly pop-esque sounding title. Interesting chorus - the line "you chose the long road but we'll be waiting" - is this perhaps suggesting that they hold no grudge or animosity towards her now...
