Master of Puppets, what can I say! This c.d is my favourite album of all time. As soon as you put it into your stereo it lulls you into a false sense of security and then suddenly with the main riff of battery it hits you like a punch in the face!
The opening track 'Battery' has one of the most killer metal riffs of all time! the acoustic guitar in the intro couldn't be more relaxing, until Lars Ulrich's punding floor toms send you careering across the room! The song is extremely fast paced with breath taking musicianship on display. Only James Hetfield can pull off the battery main riff and sing it at the same time quite like that!
The whole album is jam packed with brilliant song writing, exhilirating solos and the most awe inspiring riffs ever! The album is a like a rollercoaster taking you on one hell of a ride!
All of the songs are fairly lengthy with none of the songs falling short of 5 mins, and the longest exceeding 8 and a half! However i dont feel any of them become even slightly tedious! This record will make you get lost in its world and come out thinking it has been on ten minutes rather than the whole thing!
After listening to it countless times iI still cant place my finger on a mistake! It is a work of sheer brilliance, and although many people say a record can never be perfect, this is definatly one of those that comes as close as possible!
I personally cant really express how much I love this cd in words, but I can give you one piece of advice, go buy it NOW!

Good 1st review, hope you keep writing. It would help if you could write a little about each indivdual song. If you do let me know and i will re-rate.

Advantages: The album shows Metallica at its peak as a band Disadvantages: Only 8 tracks, considered a short album by many, Sound quality could be better.
Advantages: Flawless Heavy Metal record, technically stunning time signature shifts with occasional classical structuring Disadvantages: 20 year old production job, could do with a re-mastering
