Advantages: 2 or 3 very good songs. The album is very cheap Disadvantages: Some very awful tracks
This album is marketed as being great for parties and some of the tracks are typical 1970s dance-floor fillers. However, some of the songs are not the best choices that could have been made.
The first track is "You Sexy Thing " by Hot Chocolate. Everyone knows this and it's a great opener. Just make sure nobody tries to strip off!
Following on from this is "More Than A Woman" by Tavares. Ah, a track from "Saturday Night Fever". What 1970s compilation album would be complete without it?
The third song is "That's The Way (I Like It) by KC & The Sunshine Band. Not as good as "Give It Up", which I think just squeezed into the back end of the 1970s but still a decent partytune.
"Movin'" by Bass Construction and "Nut Bush City Limits" by Ike and Tina Turner are next - again, not bad tracks for this kind of album.
The hilarious ...
Advantages: Mixes/Mash Ups. Amount of Songs. Disadvantages: Length of some songs. Only for dance fans
the lyrics for this song before i had listened to it, but they go very well with the song. It sounds very dramatic. It is more of a speech than actual singing, and the passionate background music goes well with this. The fast beat, slow strings of the orchestra, then the speech followed by a female vocalist is very good. If you are going to attempt to listen to any of the songs from this album i would advise this one as it shows completely the diversity of all of the tracks in just 3.55 mins.
10/10 for track 23
................Overall for Disk 1
I would say it is the better of the two disks, giving much more variation of tracks, tunes and lyrics. With some excellent mixes throughout the disk. Though some of the songs are quite short, they definitely make up for this in quality of sound.
................Disk 2
The second disk ...
Advantages: Jam packed, well presented, great inclusions. Disadvantages: 1 or 2 naff tracks but you can't please everyone!
Now I was quite surprised to get this in my stocking for Christmas, obviously somneone had been doing their homework. I've got pretty eclectic tastes, ranging from indie, 80's, and rock, to dance and trance, so it was quite a nice surprise as I'd had my eye on this for a while.
Released in mid-October 2005, the Ultimate Experience boasts a jam-packed tracklist of some stonking tunes, as well as some which are yet to reach the UK Charts.
Featuring some key names in current dance music, their are some really cool inclusions on both discs. I tend to find that on releases such as this, the 2nd CD is usually packed full of obscure trance remixes from the likes that no-one has ever heard of, but this has been tastefully presented.
Disc 1:
Shapeshifters - Back to Basics.
Possibly one of the biggest dance hits of 2005, Back to ...
