this album is a must have for any true placebo fan or for anyone who likes punk, indie or rock music.
It appears that after a decade of albums, Placebo have gotten nostalgic. for this album molko and co have gone back to the sound of thier earlier years- The dark themes remain, coupled with the melancholy guitar riffs that make them so addictive.yet there are also moments of beauty that demonstrate a confident band that is continually striving to evolve. it sees them shy away from the polished, radio-aware sound that rounded out 2003's 'Sleeping With Ghosts'
To the faithful fan, it will be immediately apparent that this is one that will burrow in the more you listen to it.Placebo have never been ones to disappoint their fans, and it's pretty safe to say that their newest installment is not going to be breaking that trend.
there are a couple of telling collaborations that really do make Meds a downright essential album to get hold of. another of the albums undoughted highlights is molko's sincere,heart-breaking intense vocals along with catchy guitar riffs.
They do not compare to any artists around as they are so different from anyone else, and I love that about them. It's excellent, easy to listen to, and very versatile.
the only bad thing about this cd is the dvd included in the limited edition version. although it is quite good it is not worth paying excesive amounts of money for it.

Advantages: There are a couple of good songs, I guess.... Disadvantages: Lots of rubbish, tries too hard to be interesting, lacks the supposed positive attitude...
