I rented this movie, not having a clue what to expect, and came away having some knowledge of surfing culture, and knowing who Sanoe Lake is. I also came away thinking, 'What a good movie.' It actually made me cry a bit at the end.
Starring Kate Bosworth, Sanoe Lake and Michelle Rodriguez this intriguing tale goes on a swirling adventure, telling the story of a young female surfer, desperate to win the upcoming pipe contest.
She falls in love, and loses her way; what many young adults of today do. But can she remember her life long dreams are ready for her, and that all she has to do is concentrate on reaching them?
Once again talent is fresh and stunning. I have only seen Kate Bosworth in a few movies and this is the most memorable one I have watched. I had never heard of Sanoe Lake, but her talent is fresh and exciting ...

been better if the film was a bit like Roger Donaldson's Thirteen Days that goes into much more detail about the history of the time rather than just showing the lives of a bunch of fictional characters in an attempt to portray the mood of the American nation in the 60s. It's being too self important and preachy.
The direction is also a bit flat, it doesn't draw you in and the drug trip looks like it was copied straight from an Oliver Stone film. Emilio needs to work on his own style. The film lacks tension.
The best part of the film was the ending, I expected it to be a cop out but it stayed true and showed the assassination (I don't think I'm giving away the ending there after all we all knew the ship would sink in Titanic).

Melody Gardot uses her soothing tones to seduce you into a mellow and lazy mood, allowing the perfect scene for a relaxing night in. The intimate 'Goodnite' is perfect for partners together, whilst quicker ballads such as 'All That I Need Is Love' and slower, more mellow songs Like 'Gone' mean there is a huge difference in songs and each one will surprise you.
