Advantages: Elvis singing great songs at his peak, backed by sympathetic musicians. Disadvantages: That the album contains barely half of the many songs recorded at these historic sessions.
...There's an awful lot of ElvisPresley CD's in the racks to tempt new listeners. In fact there's a lot of awful ElvisPresley CD's in those racks, too. But hidden amongst those dreadful movie soundtracks and uninspired live shows from Vegas, there are some truly great albums, of which this is one of the best.
Recorded in 1969, this is Presley returning to form after a considerable career slump in recent years. The best-known track here is probably the hit single 'In The Ghetto', a truly moving 'protest song' of sorts, with Elvis delivering a tremendously impassioned vocal. 'Long Black Limousine' is another poigniant parable, about someone who dreams of one day travelling in such a stylish mode of transportation, only to have their wishes fulfilled when they are driven to their final resting place !

Advantages: The King, Fantastic career, and Many hits Disadvantages: None
...ElvisPresley was born in 1935 in Memphis, he was known as "The King", and he was and still is one of the biggest stars of the twentieth century.
"Heartbreak Hotel", was his first number one single, followed by three more number ones, before he made his first film "Love Me Tender" from which the title song of the same name gave him his fifth number one.
He had a hit with "Teddy Bear" from his second film "Loving You", followed by "Jailhouse Rock", which was taken from his third and best ever movie "Jailhouse Rock"
I have seen all of Elvis's movies, but I recken that Jailhouse Rock was the best one. In early 1958 he got draughted inot the army, where he spent two years driving trucks in Germany, also in the same year he joined the army, his mother died, to whom he was very close, Elvis described her death as the worst tradedy of his...

Advantages: Way Down Disadvantages: all of the rest
...came along anyway.
Still if you must carry on, we have He'll Have To Go, Pledging My Love, Moody Blue (another single from the album), and She Thinks I Still Care, all hideous country and western tunes with Elvis singing like he is reading the lyrics from a phone book . The last track, It's Easy For You, is a little better. But only a little.
If you must buy a late-period Elvis album, go for "From Memphis To Vegas" or "From ElvisPresley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee"; both have much better songs and more importantly, better singing. Avoid this album like the plague....
