Advantages: Emo-pop synthesized sound. Some of the songs are catchy, great for impressionable teenage girls. Disadvantages: Annoyingly catchy 'Shake it' song.Rubbish lyrics, synthesized and kiddyish.

This album, in terms of sound and feel is a bit emo-pop, targeted at a younger audience than the serious emo of our time. This younger audience I am referring to is made up almost entirely of teenage girls I am certain of it. When listening ... ...youth. This is impossible because Metro Station are exactly that: a modern day Bros, raised to greatness through Myspace hype than actual musical greatness. But hey, who am I to judge!
The lyrics are pretty basic teenage romantic that has no real sincerity about them but I think they would suffice to gain masses of crooning teenage girls arguing that the lyrics ARE meaningful to them. Whatever.
Reviewing this album is an exercise in objectivity on my part and I intend to give it my best shot. I think the first thing that I should say to try and defend Metro Station, is try to ignore their previous connections with the Hannah Montana empire. That is definitely a good starting place for trying to think of their good points.

This younger audience I am referring to is made up almost entirely of teenage girls I am certain of it. When listening to this album and trying to review this band, I am trying not to liken them with Bros and the boy-pop bands of my youth. This is impossible because Metro Station are exactly that: a modern day Bros, raised to greatness through Myspace hype than actual musical greatness. But hey, who am I to judge!

Other than the fact that they have really trendy haircuts, their keyboard guy Blake Healy is actually pretty good. I wonder how this band would really have any credibility if it wasnt for him. He is responsible for the bouncy synthesized beats of their chart single 'Shake it' (and even I am embarressed to say that this song is irritatingly catchy-beware).
Summary: Dont worry, like Hannah Montana, they will eventually grow up and f*ck off!
I'm not giving Metro Station a bad review just because Trace Cyrus is Miley Cyrus's brother. The reason I am giving them a bad review is because the album they produced is just awful. It shouldn't even be called music. It is watered-down pop punk that doesn't really deserve much recognition. The lyrics are unimaginative and and are just cheesy to the point of being unbearably annoying. Unfortunatly, songs such as "Shake It" have wormed their way ...

Review of Metro Station - Metro Station
Advantages: Every song is unique Disadvantages: Not enough songs on the album
...my decision. In my opinion Metro Station is a fresh new band that everyone should listen to! I think that every song on this album is a pleasure to listen to and the electronica beats of each song make it very interesting and a very upbeat album.
I believe that the vocals on every song are clear so that it is easy to get carried away with the music and sing along to! I genuinly rate every song on this album highly and would recommend it to anyone. ...

Advantages: different sound to othe rbands, easy listening but also some rock-y tracks Disadvantages: for the younger generation
...So when I first hers Metro Statiosn premiere single "shake it" and then discovered that the vocalist was indeed Miley Cyrus's half brother I was shocked, shocked that how different there msuic was. Metro station are a whole different genre and have a whole different look and sound that appeals to a different audience to his sisters. 'Shake It' was so catchy that you cant help but get the chorus stuck in your head, in clubs when its played you can ... ...first few bard of the intro. Futherly there are some good tracks on the album such as "seventeen forever" about growing up through the teenage years and another good track is "wish we were older|" about blossoming love and a great beat rhythm to it. The and are more Indie/rock based but also some pop based beats to it. I definitely listen to this albuma nd am looking forward to hearing more from these boys ...

Album Notes
Metro Station are a California pop-rock band that arguably found fame through singer Trace Cyrus - son of country singer Billy Ray and brother of teen-pop superstar Miley. Their debut self-titled album is a bracing collection of melodic, radio-friendly rock songs, including the US singles 'Shake It' and 'Seventeen Forever'. This UK-only version also contains two bonus tracks, one of which was written specifically for the release ('After The Fall').
