Mi Vida Es Cantar (My Life Is To Sing) - Celia Cruz

Advantages: Spanish version of Livin' La Vida Loca
Disadvantages: Too many unmemorable slow tracks

...This is a good album but it definitely doesn't live up to the first track and first single, the fantastic Livin' La Vida Loca. The slow songs are all a bit boring, apart from his duet with Madonna, Be Careful (Cuidado Con Mi Corazon) and his duet with Meja, Private Emotion. Shake Your Bon-Bon is OK, the Spanish version of Livin' La Vida Loca is great, but apart from that single, my favourite track is Maria, a thumping Latino dance tune. This is an OK album, but it certainly doesn't live up to expectations.... Read review

Whilst this song sounds the same some of the lyrics were actually changed - the original song expresses more commitment "Contigo mi vida Quiero vivir la vida Y lo que me queda de vida Quiero vivir contigo" "With you My life I want to live my life What that keeps me living I want to live with you" I like the original lyrics - there's more meaning to them, but I prefer the English version of the song because I can sing along to it! *** 13. Te Aviso, Te Anuncio (Tango) (I warn you, I announce to you) The Spanish version of Objection (Tango) is very different to the English in terms of its lyrics, although it sounds the same. Advantages: every song
Disadvantages: takes a few listens

...After hearing the lead single from 'La Vida... Es Un Ratico', 'Me Enamora' I was glad to see Juanes back, but was distinctly unimpressed. I wanted to hear something new from one of my favourite artists but instead I had a typical (if not also catchy and well written) love song with guitar riffs and solos very similar to those heard on 'La Camisa Negra' and (albeit one of my favourite Juanes songs), A Dios Le Pido. But I semi-reluctantly bought this album and did not regret it, certainly after a few listens. There is not a single dud or filler on the album, possibly a first for a Juanes album and in that respect surpassing my favourite Juanes album, the multi-award winning Un Día Normal.
