After listening to this the first time through iwas struck by how different it is to their previous albums. I have often found that you can listen to metorea and hybrid theory together and find that they link very well. Here, however, the songs take on a more ballad-like tone. There seems to be more emphasis on the words and lyrics, then the songs being loud. That's not to say it's a bad thing though, as they are very well written with alot of emotion, and there are a couple of good, powerful songs in there too (what i've done and bleed it out for example). I would say that to enjoy this album more you have to listen to it a few times, as it's a grower, and to give it a chance. Even though the last few tracks can seem to go on a little too long, it is still a very good album. A must for fans!
