Advantages: Very Orignal Disadvantages: If you don't like drums you won't like this
...This is another good album from a band that are now way past their best. When Sepultura made Chaos A.D. Max Calalera was still the front man for the band. He is with Soulfly now and his departure a couple of years ago signalled a down turn for the rest of the band. There are some thumpling good tracks on this album such as Refuse/Resist, Territory and Biotech Is Godzilla are just a few of them. Sepultura are from Brazil and are greatly influenced by drums and this is very evident in numerous tracks. The inlay card is excellent its thick with lots of infomation about the band. Chaos A.D. has now been reissued and includes 4 bonus tracks these are live or "tribal jams" (yet more drums) of existing tracks on the album. At times there is nothing but drums on the album but they do seem to be very orignal and this originality is what...

Advantages: good production and sound, catchy songs Disadvantages: different from the older albums
...This release was something totally unexpected (except the fact that the full-length album was preceded by a EP "Too Old Too Cold" which gave people a decent surprise) and came like rain from clear sky.
With this release Darkthrone have evolved from good old norwegian black metal to motörheadesque and quite heavily punk influenced thrash metal band and I absolutely adore it. Actually the change is rather small, it could be considered big only because Darkthrone was for quite a long time a black metal band, but considering that Darkthrone started as a death metal band (their first album is basically a death metal release) turning into black metal after their first release "Soulside Journey". So it's not that big surprise.
Compared to their previous full-length "Sardonic Wrath" this release is much more listener...

Advantages: Interesting music for those who liked the sci-fi series Disadvantages: -
...version of the theme is really out of place, both in the old series, and in our contemporary times. For me, it doesn't even add the value of nostaglia, as I'd not known of its existence before this CD.
With one exception ('The End of the Atlantia') these pieces are presented in the same order as they would fall in the film. The music is fun and interesting, not a half-hearted attempt at filler sounds by any means. Certain elements (Fighter Launch, Imperious Leader Theme) would be continued throughout the television series.
The new miniseries on television has a very different look and feel, and that extends even to the music. However, for one brief moment, the brass-heavy and triumphant-sounding Stu Philips theme can be heard as the Vipers make a fly-by. A good tribute, but it reinforced how much I missed the music of the original, which...
