Advantages: love Disadvantages: comedy
...This is the kind of cd you put on when you want to play some mock parody of a 70s porn film with your girlfriend. It is comical but also cult listening. The tunes just get your loins moving and are inherently ‘groovy’. His voice is gut churning but in some way also melodic. The opening 5 tunes are very good and the album tales off a bit after that. The only things which are a bit stupid are the cheesy monologues at the beginning, otherwise this is a great cd for parties to get people moving or simply for a bit of a 70’s throw back half hour. Buy a cut price, second hand version, it wont get much play but you need to have it....

Advantages: It's Kiss! Disadvantages: more live songs would have been better
...Going back in the annals of time, I remember when I first heard Kiss - it was Alive 2 and more accurately Ace Frehley's song 'Shock Me' which just blew me away! I'd never really heard hard rock before and what came of the speakers of my very modest system at the time (1978 as I recall) was nothing short of breathtaking!
22 years on and the album still has no competition. People mocked it when it was released as it only had 3 sides of live material with the fourth being studio tracks, but it still had more live songs than its predecessor AND also new tracks (Rocket Ride being the best)
Unless Kiss' last ever album Alive 4 is stupendous, then they have never bettered Alive 2 in terms of the performances - this, along with Psycho Circus will be the album they will be remembered by....

Advantages: Cheap, Wide selection of oldies and modern hits Disadvantages: Some songs are a bit boring
...Having heard Summer Breeze by the Isley Brothers on a car advert this morning with its great guitar power chords, I thought I'd go into town and buy their album, but having failed to find it anywhere I was amazed when I cam across this album in the sale for £5.99 and there it was on disc 2. Along with Summer Breeze, there are some great tunes and I mean really great. On disc one we've got the more modern tracks., such as have a nice day from the stereophonics, Big sur from the thrills, smile by the supernaturals, and can you dig it by the mock turtles as featured on the vodaphone adverts. The second disc is my favourite with great tunes from the turtles - happy together, westside from Athlete and Sunny Afternoon from the kinks.
This is the perfect album for driving along in the summer breeze, and for £5.99 you can't go wrong....
