powerful, emotive and adaptable voice, but also a shrewd business mind and reputation as a producer--McEntire is a byword for safe, quality country. Even though she won the Country Music Awards Female Vocalist of the Year in 1984, her career didn't really take off until she switched from Mercury to MCA/Universal in the mid-1980s, and that is where this collection comes from. Such is her success and prolificacy that a Best Of really needs more than 20 tracks, but generally there aren't that many glaring omissions and there is a good range of tempos and styles from traditional arrangements to glossy strings. Also featured are a couple of key duets: one with Vince Gill ("The Heart Won't Lie") and the other a well-matched pairing with the underrated Texan singer Linda Davis on "Does He Love You". --Tim Perry

These include:- Rumor has it, does he love you, it's your call, you lie, till you love me, and still, why haven't i heard from you and the heart won't lie ( a lovely duet with another popular country singer Vince Gill). There really are some lovely songs on this album and if you have heard some of her work then i would recommend this for you to sample her finest songs.
I am a Reba McEntire Fan (ok, I live in the US) and am an EXTREME buff on her music. If this cd interests you, may i suggest the "Last one to Know" cd, or her "Live" album. Her 1985 cd "Have I got a deal for you" shows her true talent, while giving you that 80's poppy-country mix feal. The "Rumor has it" CD was made the year before her bandmates were killed in the plane accident(1990) and her next album, "For my broken Heart" show her tru emotions ... ...She came out with great hits durring the 90's such as "Why haven't I heard from you?" and "The Night the lights went out in Georgia", a Vicki Lawrence remake. She also came out with one of the most controversial singles, "Fancy", about a daughter put into prostitution due to her mother's unability to make ends meet. All in all,Reba is a very good singer. Pick up one of her Cd's, You'll Definitly like it. ...

Reba McIntire has been around the music business longer than some people may know. Her career spans a few decades now, and in that time she has produced some of the best known and loved country music in the world. With a vocal style very different than any other, and her sense of fashion, Reba has been an inspiration to so many aspiring country singers. Audiences around the globe as well as her music peers have demonstrated their love with record ... ...awards. She is one of the most successful country artists to have "crossed over" into other musical genres, such as pop and rock.
This record showcases many of her musical triumphs from her beginning, to the present day. With room for only 20 songs, you can be sure there were several gems that did not make it. And, with Reba showing no signs of slowing down, we can look forward to many more years of amazing songs from a true Country diva. ...
