Advantages: It has a twist Disadvantages: it's not really good
This is just a short monologue I had to write for english. Not very good but I thought I would post it anyway..
[Scene - An untidy bedroom in a children's home]
(Girl sat on her bed, looking at a photograph)
I don't know why I keep it really, shoulda' thrown it out ages ago. Not like I wanna see her again?don't miss her or anything. I remember when I was little, she told me she'd put me in here if I was naughty. Didn't think she actually would!
(Puts photo down) They sent me up 'ere 'coz that little brat Tom was pulling my hair, so I slapped 'im. He cried, so they sent me to my room. 'He's only nine!' they said. For Gods sake, he's 9, not 4. He asks for it.
Caroline said I was alright to go back down and watch TV with the rest, but I can't be arsed. They'll only fight over the channel, and we won't get anything watched ...

Advantages: Short and complex Disadvantages: Not Pinter's best play
Monologue
By
Harold Pinter
(The play was first shown on BBC Television on 13 April 1973 with Henry Woolf as MAN)
In around 10 pages only, this play allows the speaker to tell us his story through a monologue as the title indicates. The speaker, sitting in a chair, addresses his friend who is supposed to be there also in the empty chair that the man talks to. What we understand from the story is that both the speaker and his friend, a white man, get involved in a relationship with one black woman. Through recalling this relationship, the speaker seems to be eager to have the friendship that he and his friend used to have. We also understand from this monologue that the speaker has not seen both his friend and the woman for a while.
It does not look like an interesting story, does it? The fact that it is a monologue, that it ...
Advantages: Produced entirely by me in the style of Dennis Potter Disadvantages: May be hard to follow
We have explored the play Blue Remembered Hills by Dennis Potter, it is set in 1943 during the war and is based on the lives of a group of seven seven year olds. T We looked closely at the end of the play and looked at how we reacted to it. The main idea behind this piece was thinking about how the children reacted and felt after the death of Donald. Although the piece I have written is a monologue there are other people on stage acting when it is being performed. Spelling mistakes are intentional to portray a Gloucestershire accent and should be read and acted as it is spelt.
(Lights up on stage to reveal a cold uncomforting room split in two, with a row of chairs on stage left. There is a door on centre stage and a desk and a few chairs on stage right. This is to represent two different rooms. There is a man sitting on one side ...
