...Immediately after you've seen this musical perfromed at the theatre, this soundtrack becomes a must have! The soundtrack to this musical is flawlessly written and truly captures the emotions displayed on the stage. This probably wouldn't be a good buy if you have never seen the musical and its impact on you, as the listener, would be greatly reduced as you can't associate it with the stage performance. The songs on the soundtrack are very varied in style and approach, reflecting the various ages of Mickey and Eddie throughout the musical. From there childhood as naughty, cheeky seven year olds through Kid's Game through their adolescence to their difficult and different adulthoods. The name of the group comes from the fact that they consider themselves to be the "little brother' to Hip Hop musicians within groups like De La Soul, Public Enemy and A Tribe Called Quest. From these names, you can tell that their style isn't concentrating on gangsta rap; they are Hip Hop MCs. 1. "Sirens" (feat. Carlitta Durand) **Three Stars** This kicks off the album in a slow way, initially we are welcomed with a piano and some strings before we hear interference, then this is followed by a little guitar segment. After this we finally get to the real Hip Hop; what Little Brother are all about. Advantages: Fabulous production, a real mix of styles

...sounds. But it's incredible. The beat is pounding yet simple and not too in your face. One sounds continues throughout it all though and it's a weird distorted almost accordian or really mashed up violin sound. There are hints of vocals but you can't make out what they are and they slip away quickly; this song is jam packed full of different little samples and sonic noises. "Marvo Ging" seems to have this wonderful, hopeful optimistic magic around it all. "Surface to Air" brings this album to an end. Another seven minute epic, this songs builds from a mere distorted beat and vocoder vocals. It turns into another hopeful, sunny little gem of a tune. It has a real beautiful quality to it; it twists and glides along really smoothly. Guitar rifts blend with the distorted twisted samples that ebb away in the background. This is Chemical Brothers...
