Advantages: Great beats, great lyrics, brilliant songs - all hits Disadvantages: Couple of songs not so hot
...I bought this recently and was amazed at how many songs I still new the words to that still had me bopping away - some great vocals and unexpected harmonies. Unfortunately, as with most greatest hits, the insert fails to provide lyrics, but does give a great write-up on the band.
For all The Beat and ska fans, this album is a must! Even if not so much into ska, its a great album full of hits, almost all you will remember.
01 - Mirror in the Bathroom - reminded me of teenage days, being too conscious of looks and it really brought the ska beat to the front, preparing you for the rest of the album.
02 - Save It For Later - having a great tongue in cheek line, "just hold my hand while I come, to a decision I meant!", brings to mind the struggles of couples having the discussion about previous partners, and one finding out just how...

Advantages: A couple of decent tracks Disadvantages: The album lacks consistency, a lot of fillers are evident here
...and 'When Your Heart Stops Beating' is therefore a much better offering than what we had from Mr DeLonge. Whereas after the demise of Blink 182, Tom DeLonge took the route of taking himself far too seriously and becoming a complete egotist, +44 are far more light-hearted, and although their music is at times a far cry from that of what they were producing as Blink 182; a lot of the time the tracks here sound like cast off's from Blink 182's self titled release.
'When Your Heart Stops Beating' starts off promisingly with 'Lycanthrope', a track which is fairly pacey and keeps your interest for the 4 minutes that it runs for. Although this track is pacey with strong drum beats and guitars, it's never really anything spectacular and although starts the album nicely enough it will never leave you gasping in awe of what you have just listened to...

...London beat are most famous for their hit song “ive been thinking about you” which I believe reached number 2 many moons ago (1990) but brought out this best of album in 2004.
