Advantages: Almost all of his best songs including "It was a very good year"
Disadvantages: Candlelight on Cd's not an option

...Now I like my music varied, but lyrics are my thing, be it Bacharach and David, Rickie Lee Jones or Simon and Garfunkel. (that doesn't explain why I like YES, but there has to be some mystery in everyone's life). I also love what could be called "vocal stylists" rather than singers. For example Nick Appollo Forte in Woody Allen's "Broadway Danny Rose", Tony Bennett et al. My mum and dad brought me up listening to Jim Reeves, Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey, which is cruel treatment I'm sure nowadays social services might be interested in. However as I get older, I realise what great performers these people were and top of the heap is Ol blue eyes, Frank Sinatra. I've just bought a double CD "My Way" on Warner and it has all the great man's hits. The one that clinched it for me, and believe me it's worth the price of admission... Read review

...If you like Vic Reeves and his 'zany' sense of humour, then you'll like this album. 'I Will Cure You' is full of witty, clever, often humerous and frequently silly lyrics such as .. 'I held your hand whilst you had a wee, Splish, splosh, splash the urine up against a tree. You shook your penis and where the droplets fell, Grew a beautiful woodland glade.' (Summer of '75) 'Harry Seacombe wants his pie and peas baby' (Meals on wheels) But this isn't just a silly album like some of your dad's Baron Knights records, it contains some seriously good tunes such as the hit Dizzy (with the Wonder Stuff) and a dance version of the classic Pre FA Cup Final hymn 'Abide With Me'. I have this album on vinyl and its one of my most treasured posessions. It will cure you. NH... Read review

Advantages: Amazing Hippie flash backs...
Disadvantages: Sometimes a little TOO Hippie for my liking

...OK, this guy is my favourite artist of the moment. After Seeing the Amazing Key of C video on MTV I got hooked. And I hated all the hippie stuff! But, alas, this is different. All the music is done by Jim himself. His lyrics are amazing and so clever!! The music is also very clever. It's like a mix of the 60's, 70's and now, all mashed up, and stuck in a blender. And it makes the best Music Smoothie! From songs about computers crashing to kicking footballs over fences! I don't think even Jim knows what he created! It's just so different to anything I've ever heard before!
