Most Beautiful Girl, The (The Best Of Charlie Rich) - Charlie Rich

Advantages: Pure joy for Charlie and Lola fans, both children and parents alike
Disadvantages: The track 'Bat Cat' does not go on long enough.

...If you are fed up of nursery rhymes, pop or childrens stories on car journeys and have a Charlie and Lola fan this CD is fantastic for them and you. It has saved us from hell on many a car trip, for the pure sillyness and fun of the songs and lyrics. The CD combines out takes from the TV series of Charlie and Lola talking, with music from the show, and tracks I haven't heard before. Highlights include, 'The bestest in The Barn' which has the lyrics on the inner sleeve (and apparently you can watch the video by loading the CD in your computer, but I haven't tried this yet), 'Germs' which has the best bug noises you will ever hear (I challenge you not to laugh), and 'Bat Cat' which is pure genius. Advantages: the best of one of the 90s' best bands
Disadvantages: 'Music is My Radar'

...that means, 'You are so beautiful.' I'm not sure of the significance of that-- probably just to make themselves seem more intellectual or something. Also, check out the Pet Shop Boys' live cover of this song. 11. 'Charmless Man' (from 'The Great Escape')(3:33) This is a fun, upbeat song about a man who thinks he's a brilliant person, when in fact, he is extremely unpleasant. He's gone to expensive schools and hangs with the right crowd, but no one really likes him. 'And yet he tries so hard to please He's just so keen For you to listen But no-one's listening' The best part of this song is the na na na na's that are fun to sing along with. Advantages: Even if you're not a country music fan you'll love this album

...on little ditties, which adds to the overall sense of fun that they must have had when compiling this album. THE TRACKS ------------------- Now comes the fun part, this is where I can tell you about the tracks and what I like about them, so if you're sitting comfortable I'll start. Rollin' (The Ballad of Big 'n' Rich) --------------------------------------------- This has got to be one of the two best tracks on this entire album. The song is essentially about their love of Country Music, it's very catchy with lyrics that just roll off the tongueand partway through the track is a twist, there's a rap in it, yep you heard me correctly. Now I know what you're thinking that this must ruin the song but to be honest it fits in perfectly. I often find myself singing along to this track and is what I would class as a fun song...
