Advantages: Historically very accurate Disadvantages: Too centred around relationships
Released in 2005, The NewWorld stars Colin Farrel, Christopher Plummer, Christian Bale and Q'Orianka Kilcher. It tells the true story of how the first English settlement in the Americas came to be; why it started, where it was, and how it developed. In 1607, the English arrive in what is now West Viriginia to build the settlement Jamestown, named after the King of that era. The team encounter various conflicts with the American Natives, and Colin Farrel as John Smith is eventually captured by them. The story continues to show the many problems the settlers faced, and their story up to 1616, whilst at the same time showing the love affair going on between John Smith and Q'Orianka Kilcher as Pocohontas. Having a great interest in this part of history myself, I found the narrative of the film absolutely brilliant as it really gives you ...
Advantages: Different system of control, very beautiful looking Disadvantages: better gameplay is on the singapore serve, which can mean cash issues, EU servers have poor status
understandable with the loss of paid items and server outages and very poor communication form the server hosts. There's no profanity filter that I can see so you kinda get it in full force.
Granado Espada also has its own forums run by IAH which is a lot more informative and easier to look at. The community seems a lot more relaxed and nicer, even in PK. The odd swear word from players doesn't really mar the system, its no where near as horrible as the Sword of the NewWorld.
Personally, If you were going to play this game I would probably advise you to play the Singapore version more (Granado Espada). Its a lot more reliable, better updated, well informed and generally a nicer atmosphere - but a lot of this would be on Swords too if GamerFirst actually took a very good look at their customer service and actually worked on fixing some ...
Advantages: Lots of well known tracks, good british music Disadvantages: None
Well I thought I would start the new year on a happy note by reviewing a lively old album by a lively(ish) old group - The Electric Light Orchestra (or, as their friends and fans know them, ELO).
Was it a Christmas present? No folks, I actually went out and bought this myself. Make of that what you will! It was a mere case of, I had a version of their Greatest Hits on vinyl (or an LP to those of us who remember them), but I decided I ought to listen to these guys on a piece of modern equipment - namely a CD!
