The day that the MOULIN ROUGE Album was release, (May 2001), I rushed out to buy it. I loved the film but I believe the music was what made the film great.
It only has one disc and was released by the Interscope Record Company. Baz Luhrmann was in charge of both Directing the film and this album. Some of the songs in the movie are not included in this album, ("Like A Virgin" and "The Show Must Go On").

~O MY REVIEW O~
The album is a mix of song from musicals, R&B song and older hit songs. Each artist performance was wonderful and the chorus' is so funny, (it brings back memories of how they were in the film). The music was mixed and then re-mixed again.
My favorite songs were "The Can Can", (because I use to do this dance), "Voulez-Vous Coucher Avec Moi", "Sparkling Diamonds", (a spoof on "Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend that was from a Hollywood musical movie of the same name), "Because we Can" and "Come What May".
"Hindi Sad Diamonds" was from an older radio show. I enjoyed "Lady Marmalade", ( sung by Christina Aguilera), Pink, (who plays a sexy dancer), Lil’ Kim and Mya.
I also enjoyed the songs: "Diamond Dog", "Your Song", "Children of the Revolution" and "One Day I'll Fly Away". I found they were moody and serious and gave me a rest from the faster songs on the album.
When I heard "Come What May" I could remember how the "sparks flew" between the eyes of Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor.
"The Elephant Man" is a "mish mash", (mixture), of the songs "All You Need Is Love", "Don't Leave Me This Way", "Heroes", "I Will Always Love You" "In the Name of Love", "I Was Made For Loving You Baby", "One more Night","Silly Love Songs", "Up Where we Belong" and a lot of dialogue. You have to listen closely to hear all the songs. In fact I had to play it a few times before I could.
~O MY THOUGHT O~
There was not one song I didn't enjoy. I listen to it often especially when I'm having a bad day.
