Advantages: Good tunes, music with intelligence Disadvantages: None, unless you want noise
First, a question: what is the link between Dave Stewart of Eurythmics and the song Hi-Ho Silver Lining?
No? Then I?ll have to tell you, won?t I? The answer is AmazingBlondel. But of course, that clarifies it like Bisto clarifies milkshake, doesn?t it? So I?ll have to explain further.
AmazingBlondel were a cult band in the 1970s. Two of its members, John Gladwin and Terry Wincott, had been members of the too-loud rock band Methuselah (Terry Wincott?s description, not mine), which broke up in 1969. It isn't heavy with the drums in fact, chooses to use a chord bouncing through the tune giving it that geezer drop-the-shoulder sort of bounce and rhythm.
Again the lyrics talk about him and The Streets. It could get boring and even I believe that being a fan of The Streets but it's the order in which he puts his lyrics and choices of rhymes that makes me smile or if not this then want to rap along with him.
