In contrast to the previous song, this takes an in- your-face approach 4)Where`s summerb? - In my opinion, their best song. Completely different from the previous song. This is incredibly catchy and shows how simplicity is just as importnat to music as technicality. A simple,but stunning, piano solo makes this song and great vocals helps it groove. 5)Alice Childress - Co-written with Anna Goodman, Ben folds creates their beat love song. A stunning opening piano riff is matched withe an equally impressive chorus. Vocal harmony stands out here and beutiful piano counter-melodies. Ben`s voice suits this style of music down to the bone. ...'Ben Folds Five', quite possibly the most innovative band that walked this earth....to put it in the words of a simpleton...'they're great'. 'Ben Folds Five', a band originating from North Carolina (yes, the US), consists of 3 talented band members - Ben Folds (pianist and overall genius/'the leader of the pack'), Robert Sledge (bass) and finally the drummer (his name i forget - then again though, he is a drummer,how am I supposed to remember!). ...I discovered the enigma of this London duo by accident after walking into Virgin and seeing this album on the recommended stand and I bought it because my housemate was called Ben...Sad I know, but students love an excuse (no matter how lame) to justify unnecessary expenditure! On my very first listen, I was immediately enthralled by their bewitching melodies and later smitten by their intelligent lyrics. I excitedly grabbed my friend and surgically attached her ear to the stereo, so she too could enjoy Ben’s Nick Drake meets Jeff Buckley vocals in a sweet, swirly, magical rush of acoustic guitars and keyboards (Jason’s role) held together by the glue of percussion and the subtle, yet rich support of a lazy, meandering double bass – heaven on a CD.
