The Foreigners.
There is alien life elsewhere in the universe, problem is it has come here. The Foreigners have arrived and with them they has brought vastly superior technology, high morals and peace. The problem is that humans don't seem to thrive well on 'peace'.
Soon there are some who believe that this 'golden age' of man this an enforced and sterile age. an age where peace equals stagnation and they will do all they can to drive the foreigners away.
Set in New Venice we follow Captain Jack Parry of the Foreign Policy Police who has the unenviable job of keeping the rebels in check. The. problem is a murderer is on the loose and he is killing humans and aliens alike.
No alien body has ever been found, when they are attacked they simply vanish leaving behind their all covering robes. but the human bodies don ...

Introduction:
*********
And suddenly they where everywhere. In the parks, in the buildings and walking the streets as though they had always been there.
The Foreigners where seven foot tall and wore golden masks atop their robed bobies.
They brought with ther 'Crystech', a power source and unbreakable building material.
But more importantly with their arrival came peace to mankind. Some thought it was hypnosis, some thought it was the realisation we where not alone in the universe, some thought the foriegners may be exuding pheromones. What ever the reason none thought about it too hard or too closely lest the bubble be burst and mankind fall backwards to what it had been.
The world is still deceiv'd with ornament.
Bassanio, The Merchant of Venice.

Advantages: I've not heard these pieces before Disadvantages: None
This is a superb recording by Craig Ogden who skillfully interprets this beautiful music. I found the whole album to be a diverse collection of intoxicating pieces. The writing is sensitive and delicate in places but there are also vibrant pieces which include torrents of magical playing and writing. The strong Spanish themes are invigorating having a profusion of many elements, fire, passion and a bold richness of melodies. In particular the suite depicting the story of Don Quixote is refreshingly different and adds a new dimension to the original story with its powerful rhythmic passages. The passionate interpretation of the poems by Garcia Lorca is a joy to listen to. This album should appeal to all musicians and lovers of music not just specifically to those who really enjoy the classical guitar. I can listen to this particular ...

Album Notes
Personnel: Lloyd Cole (vocals, guitar, piano, programming); Dave Derby (vocals, steel guitar); Lullaby Baxter, Virginia Soledade (vocals); Neil Clark (electric guitar); Ray Mason (bass). Recorded between 2002 & 2003. In 2000, Lloyd Cole made an appealing return to form with THE NEGATIVES, and followed it up by fiddling around with electronic instrumentals, an odds-and-ends collection, and an off-the-cuff live album. Finally picking up where THE NEGATIVES left off, MUSIC IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE is a similarly low-key album full of smart songwriting. Over the years, Cole's sound has shifted from jangly pop, dramatic orchestrations and folk-based rock and pop, but 20 years after his recorded debut, he's boiled his style down on the sparest album of his career. Seldom accompanied by more than a couple of gently picked guitars and a muted keyboard, Cole delivers literate songs that strike the perfect balance between the verbosity of his early records and his more simplified '90s approach. Matching a sharp eye with a rabbit-quick wit, he has much in common here with Raymond Carver as he does with Morrissey. It also doesn't hurt that his singing voice has matured into its most expressive phase to date.
