Advantages: Great snapshot of a great indie band
Disadvantages: not heard enough to be appreciated

...Review of The Beta Band - Music (Best Of) Ever since I have started writing reviews on Ciao I have tried to find things that haven't been reviewed to death by others, in the hope of maybe creating something to inspire someone to buy something I have had enjoyment from. Music is my usual bag and this band, The Beta band are one of my all time favourites. The first time I had heard of them was way back in the day (mid to late 90s) when they fronted the latest NME claiming their new album (imaginatively titled 'the beta band') was "rubbish". They may have claimed it was rubbish but with the track 'Round the bend' being constantly played by Jo Whiley at the time; it was difficult to find any criticisms of that song in particular. Advantages: Probably the best album of Paul McCartney's career since leaving The Beatles.
Disadvantages: Noticably, Linda's untrained vocals.

...James Paul McCartney will always be remembered for being the other half of the most inspirational song writing partnerships of the twentieth century rather than his involvement in vegetarianism, saving the seals, or for that matter… Wings. It could be said that the basis of his own music through Wings, was merely a back catalogue of all the styles of music that he wanted to have played whilst a member of The Beatles, but couldn't due to the dominating forces of John Lennon. Being the ultimate pleaser, even as a child growing up after losing his mother very young, he was the do gooder of the band when Lennon's short temper and head strong character would rise over the other four with the greatest of ease. Advantages: Beautiful songs that you want to listen to again and again.
Disadvantages: Its to short.

...(Christopher Plummer). The Sound of Music is written in blue letters at the top centre of the cover and above that Rogers and Hammerstein is written in slightly smaller red writing. Along side the names of the stars of the show are written, Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. On the back of the CD case the songs are listed: 1. Prelude and The Sound of Music 2.
