Advantages: Fairly cheap, surprisingly good range, customer services, fairly cheap p&p Disadvantages: Selection is 'hit and miss', navigation, site organisation, delivery speed
By now there are a whole host of online shops challenging Amazon, such as bol.com, hmv.co.uk, play247.com, the list is seemingly endless. Well, add to that one more music shop - www.musica.co.uk.
It?s a fairly new site I think; I couldn?t find any information on the site about how long it had been going or who was behind it, but it looks fairly new and basic and I hadn?t heard of them until last week. So why did I order from them? Well, simply I got sent a £10 voucher to try the site, so I thought I might as well check it out :) (the joy of contacts in high places?)
When I got to the site, it didn?t look too promising. There?s a central white piece welcoming you to the site ?Musica takes the hassle out of selecting and buying music CDs. International dispatch worldwide. Simple rounded prices. Chart CDs at £10.00. Average discount ...

Advantages: Easy to navigate, wide range of music tastes Disadvantages: Search requires totally accurate spelling, no track listings available for the albums
The general consensus for online music purchases tends to favour cd-wow.com. Admittedly, the prices are great. You can’t really argue with the average £8.99 cost of a cd and no delivery charge. Well, you can’t argue with it, as long as you can find the album you want. I have found cd-wow to be pretty mainstream, and decided to look at some other options.
Musica.co.uk have artists/albums that I consider represent a wider cross section of the nations musical taste. Whether it’s classical, jazz or pop artists you’re after, Musica seem to have it. The pop heading is a bit misleading, maybe. It really is pop in the widest sense of the word. Girl and boy bands such as the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys, classic rock pop such as the Eagles, rock ’n’ roll with the likes of Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly ...

Advantages: Not too expensive, good range Disadvantages: Poor navigation and catologuing
On-line shopping has saved my life but decimated my back balance. Once upon a time I was happy to leave on the limited supplies of CDs and vinyl available from my local record emporiums or the glut of music that always filled my bags after a trip to London. Then things changed. I finally got Internet access and a world of imports, rarities and bargains began to wing themselves to me via the couriers of the world. The negative effect of this was that I began to spend a vast amount on CDs. My expenditure on shiny plastic discs increased four fold and my bedroom became more and more like a library than a place to sleep. I tried to break the addict but then an offer was made to me. “Look there’s this new on-line music store, goes by the name of Musica. Go on try it out and see what you think.” Okay I can handle this I ...
