Advantages: Full of entertaining shows... Disadvantages: ...full of repeats
Of course, it's the wonderful 'Dave'...the artist formerly known as UKTV G2. Not exactly the most exciting of sounding television channels, so they glamourised it...by called it 'Dave'...because everyone knows a Dave.
The concept of the channel is simply a station airing predominantly repeats of entertainment and comedy shows. It doesn't air 24-hours a day, instead it tends to broadcast until approximately 3am each night, and then restarts at 7am, with a bit of mind-boggling Teleshopping thrown in there for good measure.
But what does it show? Well during the day it plays repeats of entertainment shows such as Top Gear, Ray Mear's Extreme Survival, Trawlermen, Traffic Cops and Fifth Gear; all seemingly quite 'manly' shows aimed at blokes called 'Dave' presumably...
As the day's schedule moves on it tends to focus ...

Advantages: Inventive, ambitious, some fantastic ideas and characters. Disadvantages: Difficult writing style to get into, loses its way badly towards the end.
with his ex-wife, estrangement from his son and slow descent into madness, culminating in the creation of his Book. His difficulties, with which it is hard not to feel sympathy, are closely allied with the kind of problems groups campaigning for the rights of fathers have faced ? although he?s not a character without his faults, we feel for his impotence and powerlessness as he struggles to
maintain a relationship with his son.
In the second branch of the story, we see the results of Dave?s troubles, in a comparatively primitive society which has taken some hard-line stances on his laws. Becoming davine, though, isn?t all it?s cracked up to be in the eyes of young Carl Devush. He believes mums, dads and kids should all be living together equally, and suspects that somewhere along the way, the word of Dave has been a little misinterpreted ...
Advantages: Fine for getting from A to B Disadvantages: Nothing special
respectively. You can book on the net directly with the airline themselves, or over the phone, but their site’s a bit crap, and they take ages to answer, so I’d recommend an intermediary such as Opodo. LOT is a ticketed airline, and you need this ticket and your passport to check in.

I rang the German LOT office to book us some vegetarian meals. The phone was answered in Polish and the holding message was in this and English – not German despite it being an office located here. I pressed the “speak English” button but they still answered in Polish which is complete gibberish to me. I eventually managed to get them to understand what I was after, only to be told that I couldn’t book both meals, just my mother’s. We were traveling together, but it was a code share flight and only one ...
