Advantages: Great Music, Great Sound, Great Words!! Disadvantages: CD = Scratch
This is one of NusratFatehAliKhan's best selling albums. It is great!! I absolutely love the words which he sings. This album does not only help me relax, but i listen to it whilst i try to sleep. NusratFatehAliKhan's voice is powerful in which he reflects his passion for Love and people in Love. So if you are in love, this is a great album to buy. The songs are about 5-7 mins long and are suitable for all ages.
The only problem with this album is that it is on a CD which means that not taking care of it means it will scratch.
My overall rating is that this is a great album which in competition with other artists shows that it is the best. I also feel that it is worth the price!
Happy Listening!! ...
Advantages: Traditional qawaal at it's best Disadvantages: Those not used to qawaal probably won't appreciate it
The songs on this album were recorded just before Nusrat's death in 1997. It contains four tracks of traditional qawaal music. The first track, Khawaja Tim Hi Ho, starts of with a blaze of tablas and clapping and maintains its intensity for a whole 15 minutes. It's classic Nusrat. The secondary singers throw in wails and chants that hang in the air just long enough for you to appreciate the skill behind them. I've only had the album for a few days and I've already listened to it lots of times. It's very hypnotic. The other three tracks, while not as intense, are still fairly good. The last track, in particular, is very restrained and starts with a low drone of voices. It's perfectly paced and very relaxing. If you're a fan of Nusrat's traditional qawaal music, you'll like this album. Anyone not familar with qawaal would ...
Advantages: Good central location, pleasant surroundings, tasty food at good prices Disadvantages: Service a little slow at times, average for Bradford
Omar Khan's is a fairly traditional Indian restaurant situated in the centre of Bradford. We were in town for a weekend of curry and had eaten lunch that day at a very modern establishment so I wanted to go for the more traditional British "curry house" in the evening. I found Omar Khan's listed on the Visit Bradford website and a look at the restaurants own website was encouraging.
The restaurant is situated on the south side of the city centre, beside the national Television and Media Museum and the Alhambra Theatre. The restaurant has a small car-park but there are other car-parks nearby and it's a five minute walk to the train and bus stations at Bradford Interchange. It wasn't immediately obvious where the main entrance was as we approached the building from the side and climbed up a small flight of steep steps.
The initial ...

Alternative Press (7/95, p.98) - Rated #78 in AP's list of the `Top 99 Of '85-'95' - "...Recorded in England with a mix of British and Pakistani musicians, the album present[s] the awesome vocal pyrotechnics of Nusrat against a sensitively produced mix of traditional and modern instruments....Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan [is] successful in bridging two widely different musical cultures with the sheer power of his emotion..."

Album Notes
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is a Qawwali singer of Pakistani devotional songs; this recording was a departure for him, a collaboration with artists from many different disciplines. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is widely acknowledged as the greatest master of qawwali music, the devotional music of the Sufis. Having popularized this beautiful and inspirational music with a worldwide audience, he began traversing a whole new musical territory towards the end of his life. MUSTT MUSTT is probably the singer's most successful endeavor at reaching out beyond the boundaries of traditional qawwali. The title track draws upon various devotional lyrics about a particular Sufi saint which Nusrat uses as a springboard for a melodically compelling vocal solo; in contrast, "Tery Bina" is a romantic qawwali song. Use of drum programming (by Peter Gabriel), synthesizers, and other modern instrumentation makes for a compelling listen. Overall, MUSTT MUSTT has a feel akin to some of Gabriel's own attempts at blending Western sounds with qawwali.
