you can see this CD and DVD set is crammed packed with lots of fun for you and your kids. Learning the songs together is a fun way of teaching the children to listen and repeat. It also helps improve their memory, which is great for school. The songs are fun to dance and sing along to, and quite a few of the singers on the tracks are easily recogniseable as Disney characters.
The DVD is also brilliant, giving you an idea of the sort of programs that are being shown on Playhouse Disney. The episodes from various programs on this DVD are fun and interesting for children. Through this my son became interested in the Playhouse Disney channel, which is great as I was getting sick and tired of Tweenies and Teletubbies on the Cbeebies channel! I bought MyFirst Album CD + DVD for my son for Christmas. I paid £10.99 for it, but I have seen it on sale since for £9.99.
The CD has 50 favourite songs and nursery rhymes on it, including more traditional ones like baa baa black sheep and the wheels on the bus, whilst also having more up to date ones such as Balamory theme, Fimbles theme and Can We Fix It? Because of the wide variety of songs that are on the CD it will cater for any child's need and parents who are listening to it with the children will find something on there that they will know, enabling them to sing along - maybe ones you remember from when you were younger or maybe you, like me have children who love Bob the Builder and Balamory and like watching them everyday! - you will get to know these songs as well.

Advantages: keeps young children entertained Disadvantages: dvd not as good as expected
My 3 year old was bought this as a gift and on opening this seemed excellent. A cd of popular children's songs and a seperate dvd of ' Dancing and Stories plus fun things to do'. However the dvd did not live up to expectations.
Firstly there are 6 nursery rhymes and 6 learning rhymes i.e. the alphabet song. Although the words appear on the screen infront of a drawn background and are highlighted as each one is sung, the writing is all in capitals which is not in line with the way children are taught to read in the uk. Furthermore very little or no punctuation is used.
Next there are 8 action songs. This is slightly better with a group of preschool children acting out the songs ie. ring-a-ring a roses but again the lyrics are all in capital letters.
On the other hand the classic children's stories do have full sentences ...
