Personnel: Anthony B.; Gentleman, Mark Wonder, Taffari. Anthony B.'s fifth album is his most assured yet. Recalling a less-fearsome Peter Tosh, the neo-roots reggae artist breezes through a set of conscious tunes that includes the ganja anthem "More Pon More," the Rasta rallying cry "Watch Over My Head," and the lusty "Girl Look Fine." The production mostly eschews programmed rhythms in favor of a human rhythm section which provides an elastic foundation for the singer's throaty rasp--the vintage-sounding result is a breath of fresh air highlighted in Anthony's climactic duet with Taffari on the rootsy "Rise Up."
