...Now for some reason I am really getting into R & B just lately. IN one of my recent reviews I referred to a R & B album being possibly the first and last that I may ever buy, well that has changed and overnight I seem to have become quite fond of this kind of music, someone has obviously influenced me, but I can't think who. Jay Sean, a couple of weeks ago, if someone mentioned his name to me I wouldn't have had a clue who he was, possibly an actor, singer maybe, I would have been oblivious to who he was, however his album has now found it prized place in my ever increasing collection of R & B music. ...Jay Sean is a British asian R'n'B singer, and in my opinoin his work has not been apprecuated enough. For those that don't know Jay previously released an album called 'Me against myself', the feel of the album was quite hip hop and include afew bhangra influenced tracks. His new album is called 'My own Way', this album is a must have for R'n'B lovers. The following tracks are included on the album: Ride It Maybe I Won't Tell Stay Stuck In The MIddle Good Enough Cry All Or Nothing Runaway Waiting Used to Love Her Just A Friend Murder Easy as 1, 2, 3 The feel of the album is very relaxed and meaningful. Advantages: Fab new(ish) artist - top beats! nice album :)
Disadvantages: could be slightly more upbeat - & a couple of the songs sound the same

...this is a really good album :) really fresh n new stuff.. im loving the asian music blended with the rnb voice - really original (well apart from the other new asian acts up and coming!! like raghav).. i can see why jay sean left studying medicine for a career in music! - it's worked out well for him.. apart from got my eyes on you - which most people have heard - stolen is really good as are a few other songs.. nice to listen to if you're just chilling out.... the only thing that's bad is --- im a massive rnb fan and however hard i try - i cant compare jay sean to the big rnb acts out there (well the old rnb stuff that i love eg. 112, jagged edge etc).. he's good but it falls more on the 'pop' wagon than the rnb -- but it's still a top album :)...
