...INTRO & DEDICATION: The following is my entry for the "Dinosaur Rock-Off;" a tribute not only to the memory of rock legend, John Entwistle (The Who's recently departed co-founder/bass player,) but to rock and roll's pioneering forefathers, generally. I'd also like to note that the guy who inspired me to host this W-O is none other than Ciao's own "Paiceyjohn." Besides being one of my favourite Ciao writers and the only member (so far) willing to risk his upstanding reputation and good name by coming to the colonies and meeting me in person, John (wisely noting I had no real choice in the matter) bravely pretended to make a public spectacle of himself, just to honor me and provide good fellowship. Advantages: Varied popular songs plus some obscure ones
Disadvantages: The obscure songs are probably not to everyones taste

...This is the second CD I have brought from this series, I find these CD's a general overview of the years music relating to well known tracks to some that are unknown to me. This therefore make is a very good album to listen to as you know what you are getting from some of the songs. artists like Sterophonics, Muse, Athlete, The Libertines and so on are well known and will appeal to the majority. There are however some more obscure songs bands like Client, Bees, which although are not to bad for my taste they may not appeal to everyone. On the whole I have found this to be a good album in my collection and one that I will listen to if I can not make up my mind. If you like the main popular songs on this album then I would recommend to have this in your collection.... Read review

Advantages: It's PJ Harvey, man!!!!!!
Disadvantages: Erm, I hate to admit...but it's perfect.

...I'm treating you to another PJ Harvey, aren't you lucky? This time it's a much more exquisite peice of art, long gone is the rawness of Polly's thundering guitar pounding away, long gone are the harsh brutal lyrics...instead we find: style, blues, werid claustrophobic noises, extreme whispering mixed in with Polly's dark, deep and twisted vocals . With a new imagine as a Gothic Vamp, Polly surprises us yet again with the unexpected lying within her music, lyrics and vocals and this album is all the proof you need to see what an amazing artist this girl is...damnit. TO BRING YOU MY LOVE Starts with a faint, distinctive raw guitar strum which gets louder while a organ and a soft drum beat come in.
