The design of the Apple iPhone was one of the first things that attracted me to it. I had previously been looking at the LG Prada phone which like this one is operated through touch sensitivity. This seemed an interesting concept to me, and having always used button based phones before I found that the absence of masses of buttons made the phone far more attractive than any I had owned in the past. Some would perhaps argue that the design of the iPhone is rather basic; it is essentially a 4.5 inch tall, 2.4 inch wide rectangle with a 3.5 inch screen at it's centre (the screen measurement is taken diagonally). It is somehow far more than this however, and once switched on is one of the most beautiful pieces of machinery I have ever clapped my eyes on. I purchased this product in November 2008, as a Christmas present for my fiancé. She had hinted at getting a new ipod, as her previous one was the 2 GB ipod nano from a few years back. I walked into the apple shop that had recently opened up in Belfast, surrounded by the whole apple range I looked at a couple different models from the new 8 GB nano to the ipod classic. But my eyes finally came to a halt upon the shiny surface of the 8 GB ipod touch. I knew instantly that this was the present that I was to buy her. So I went to the counter, the cashier asked me what I wanted and I placed my order, at which point he turned his back to me and started looking through some drawers, a few seconds later he turned around and handed me a very small rectangular box with curved edges. It's quite simply genius.

Ooo it's beautiful, as beautiful as an anodized aluminium front with stainless steel back containing electronicness can be. It's small enough to fit in my pocket and for me to forget it's there (5 x 7cm) and it's freakishly thin too.
Its Big screen of 2" is situated above the classic ipod wheel that's so easy to use that mother managed to figure it out - she's the woman that argues with Tom Tom thinking that he can hear her and so directs her another way! Bless old people.
Its not a manky pea soup green but a classy light ...
