Myleene's Music for Romance

Advantages: Good pop and Kym's got a great voice

...at all?). The band clearly can pull off co writing, and with Myleene achieving 99% in her A level music (HOW!!!!?????) they should be writing completely alone soon. To be honest, thats it really. All the tracks are either very good or O.K., but they tend to merge into one and aren't memorable as being that good. There is 'One' which is pretty funky, 'Carried a Way', which is a very cheesy but suprisingly touching ballad, and 'Not the Kind' which you may think sounds like something else, but I wont give that away. Of course they can sing, especially Kym who has a really good voice, and have proved they can sing live, the question is now- can they keep it up or is it just a novelty? This album shows that they are capable of having a long career, as long as they concentrate on the MUSIC and not as much the publicity stunts. One other thing... Read review

...I recently had this given to me and was a bit surprised as it's not the kind of thing I would have bought for myself. However now I've had time for a proper listen I think the gift-giver made a good choice. Well done, person who shall be nameless! Advantages: A mix of up-tempo pop, whistful ballads and mid tempo growers
Disadvantages: the two covers are not necessary and spoil the end of the album

...After 12 million people tuned in to "Popstars" at its peak, the resulting pop group had an awful lot to live upto. After "Pure and Simple" became the fastest selling debut single of all time, their debut album had to impress. And it doesn't disappoint. The Way To Your Love, probable second single, is a pop ballad the backstreet boys would be proud of, showcasing kym's strong voice. The album isn't the pop-fest that perhaps you would expect from perhaps the most manufactured band in history. Tracks like "another lover" "sweet alibi" and "one" show an innovative and mature side to the group. However this is not a pretentious attempt at musical credibility, the melodies are extremely strong too. "Colourblind", "I Didn't Want You Anyway" and "Breathe" house some of the catchiest choruses you will hear this year, while the disco stomper... Read review
