Advantages: An excellant erminder of how good the Ants were, even on b-sides Disadvantages: More punky than the hits
...During 1980 -81 Adam Ant was the no#1 pin-up, with pirate costomes and red indian make-up, and still managed to maintain a musical credibility with the double drum burandi beat accompanying all his songs. However prior to this Adam was a leather clad bondage obsessed punk and this cd collects the songs he wrote in this period which were later released as b-sides to all the hits.
Those b-side babies in full are:
Fall-in - an adrenalin fueled tribute to punk venue the screen on the green
Making History - actually on Kings of the Wild frontier album, but apparently not released in the US - features the trademark Ant drum sound, one of the few songs in this collection to do so.
Beat my guest- whining guitars tied to a bondage theme
Friends - a list of imaginary friends including Stevie Wonder and big John Wayne anyone who can get him...

Advantages: Great Concept Album Disadvantages: Would Have Worked Better As A Musical Stage Production
...In 1976 Jeffry Hammond retired from the band and was replaced by a more fluid bassist John Glascock (or Brittledick as Anderson often referred to him onstage). Hammond was a more precise bassist but John’s fluidity added a new lease of lie to the band as can be seen in the recording of this album. The title has gleefully been quoted by the music press ever since. The lead song is good but this album is a bit toot pop/rock for Tull mainly because the songs were written with someone else in mind (Adam Faith). Not a great effort...

Advantages: Clear, charming and soulful voice Disadvantages: She is young, talented, pretty and intellegant and I'm jealous
...’s sings with great clarity and technical excellence. This song is exceptionally beautiful and very moving. The lyrics for “Vide cor meum” were taken from Dante’s La Vita Nuova. Patrick Cassidy composed the music for the film Hanibal. Salvatore Licitra accompanies Katherine in this amazing duet. “Hymn to the Fallen” composed by John Williams for the film Saving Private Ryan is given an emotional and soulful delivery by Katherine.
Accompanied by a Spanish guitar and orchestra, the vocal arrangement to Joaquin Rodrigo’s En Aranjuez Con Tu Amor is perfect for Katherine’s voice, sentimental and charming.
Also charming is the Barcarolle, composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, light and appealing. Sung in Tchaikovsky’s native Russian, Katherine’s enunciation is perfect.
The lyrics of the carol “ Oh Holy Night” were written by Placide Cappeau de...
