...John Barry has to be the worlds finest tunesmith when it comes to movie scoring. The guy has been writing great melodies since the early sixties - and won several oscars on the way. He won one for this moving score in which he gives the various characters of the film, including the wolf (Two Socks) befriended by Dunbar, their own theme. Dunbar himself has the incredibly moving title theme, a simple, haunting melody played with layered strings and cellos. ...I didn't think much to this film anyway so that is'nt a good start! All I can say is if this is what Bond movie music has come to then it's time to cash in your pension James and retire to the south seas with Pussy Galore - oh and take an album of John Barry Bond music to fondly remember how excellent the music used to be. It wasn't just Barry that wrote great music and songs for these movies, McCartney, Marvin Hamlisch, and Bill Conti all wrote memorable tunes but this latest... It's bland baby, bland. Maybe they ought to call our hero James Bland. (Bad joke). Anyway if you've got any musical sense boycot this rubbish, including the miserable little theme song. Even The Living Daylights is better than this! Enough said.... Read review

...for a variety of listeners. If you have an interest in one particular programme, it is easy to get hold of a soundtrack. However, CD's like this which have a variety aren't regularly released, so this CD is brilliant.
