Advantages: quality songs, great musicianship & lyrics Disadvantages: Fades dramtically towards the end of the album
...- Drums
Luke Esterkyn - Vocals & Guitars
Greg Gueldner - Bass
Stroke 9's last album, 'Nasty Little Thoughts', is one of my all time favourites. I never tire of listening to it and I had very little hope of the band matching that release. They didn't it has to be said, but they did record a number of scintillating songs. The overall result may not be as good, mainly due to a few disappointing songs towards the end of the album, but it is still a great album and certainly opens on all cylinders!
'Latest Disaster' is the tale of a girl who just cannot pick the right men; in fact the most recent one has just become her 'Latest Disaster'! The twin guitar sound opens up, quickly joined by the drums and eventually Esterkyns vocals. Slowly building up the tempo and the song hits full stride.
'100 Girls', an ode to all the girls 'who've left me...

Advantages: nice tee coaster Disadvantages: hmmmmmm lets see...
...This is quite possinly the cheesest pop cash in EVER. It's rubbish, and the only reason it sold is because one billion or so pre teen girls who wouldn't know a decent cd if it hit them watched the boring tv show, and the exploits of "nasty" nige. Sold on PR alone, thats what it has.
I did listen to the cd with an open mind, I gave it a chance, no I didn't buy, I'm not (that :)) sad.
SO people, do you buy a prefabricated pile of pants for a cd or do you go and get your self a metallica cd, and see what bands which play their own instruments, write their own songs, and sell on QUALITY music are like. Every song is a teenie bopping cock up, it sounds like every other pop cd out there, it's dull, happy, in fact so bad, the only cd I've ever heard which is worse is the scooch debute album!!!! This is a music cock up, and in 5...

I'm a survivor Review ofSurvivor [ECD] - Destiny's Childby
tabyorky
Advantages: good songs, cheap album to buy Disadvantages: some crap songs
...I bought survivor by destin'y child about a month ago now. I'd heard some songs from them and really liked them, so thought I would buy the album to see what it is like.
I bought the album for £9.99 from Morrison's as i find cd's to be cheaper there than in any high street music store.
Survivor is Destiny child's thrid album. I have there other album called The writing on the wall and i have to say i do actually prefer that album to survivor. It is a good album though.
There are 18 tracks on this album which include:-
independant woman part 1
survivor
bootylicious
nasty girl
fancy
apple pie a la mode

Independant woman part 2

dance with me
my heart still beats
emotions
brown eyes
dangerously in love
the story of beauty

The songs on this album are r n b/soul, upbeat and dance tunes...
