blues, which begs a large question; "what is African blues?" The dozen or so tracks by African artists come nowhere near answering it, since musicians like Baaba Maal from Senegal and Boubacar Traore (Mali) have almost nothing in common with John Lee Hooker or Etta James and the blues' ancestral connections with Africa are hardly going to be revealed by Angelique Kidjo (Benin) singing the Gershwins' "Summertime". But think of this double CD as an opportunity to wander in two musical landscapes with no need to look for paths between them and you will be consistently entertained, whether by the township vocal-group R&B of the Manhattan Brothers, the Mozambiquan dance music of the Orchestra Marrabenta Star, Dinah Washington's roguish "Long John Blues" (which is not about underwear) or the downhome blues of Muddy Waters' "Rock Me" and Howlin' Wolf's "Red Rooster". The tracks by Vera Hall and Boy Blue were sampled on Moby's album Play. --Tony Russell

Advantages: An amazing range of blissful beats! Disadvantages: Let me think...hmm........a few strange tracks, but only 1 or 2! They kind of grow on you though
...looked about and found this. The title, (very cunning!) caught my attention, so i thought, what the heck ill buy it! Anyway i bought the album, it is GREAT for studying as it has no liricks to confuse or disturb your studying, and the blissful beats help you concentrate! A few songs that you people may recognise are:- rob d, clubbed to death, (horrid title) featured in "Rhe Matrix" (a some what ruler of ALL films)
erm.. and moby, naturalblues (not its real title) this is NICE and blissful, fatboy slim. macy gray, demons, yet another classic!
Anyway, those viewers who have stopped reading will know this album rules, as they have already purchased it, so, if you lead a stressful life and just wanna chill on those long car journeys, or in your office, etc. then buy this album, as it chills and blesses your mind with blissfulness!!!!!!...

Advantages: Superb songs, variety of music, not a bad track. Disadvantages: Some of the rock music may not be to all tastes, but i struggled for a disadvantage!
...- Feeder
13.: Any Other Girl - Nu
14.: Beloved - Working Title
15.: Calling You - Blue October
16.: Honey And The Moon - Arthur, Joseph
17.: Into The Mystic - Wallflowers
18.: Here She Comes - Androids
There is a real variety with heavier rock bands such as the Foo Fighters, Feeder and All American Rejects contributing to the album.
Then you have some of the lesser known bands on the album and tracks 14 through to and including 18 are some of my favourite songs, yet i probably would never have heard of them if not for this album. Track 15, Calling You by Blue October is a superb song and in my top songs of all time for sure.
If you liked the movies, some of the songs will make you smile thinking of the scenes they accompanied.
But even if you havent seen the movies and enjoy a real variety of excellent music, give this compilation...

...My taste in music is Catholic. In hat my taste in music is wide and varied. Which is why you will find me writing reviews on a wide range of musical styles and genres.
One of my passions is the Blues. This review is a review of Comin' Home to the Blues, volume II.
This really is a classic CD if its type. It sounds like a Whose Who in Blues Hall of Fame. There are tracks my Howlin' Wolf, Bo Didley, sonny Boy Williamson, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Elmore James. Little Walter, Otis Rush, Etta James (who has one of the sexiest female voices ever. In any musical genre!) Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Rogers, Koko Taylor (who has the other sexiest female voices ever. In any musical genre!) Washboard Sam and Lowell Fulson.
The CD begins with Howlin' Wolf's Red Rooster. This is laid back blues, filled with everything that the blues...
