For those who haven't heard of Arcade Fire before they are a Canadian band whose debut album was the quite popular "Funeral", which contained their highest UK chart song to date of "Rebellion (Lies)" reaching number 19. What do the charts show though!
This is their new album after a near 3 year gap and I have listened to it now about 15 times all the way through.
The sound is quite expansive and they have gone to considerable trouble putting this album together (to find out how much trouble download CBC Radio 3 Podcast from 23rd Feb 07), including using full orchestras from Budapest (because they are cheaper to hire there!).
As I say in the advantages, I love 10 out of the 11 songs on this album. I classify a great song to get 4 or 5 star on my iPod ratings system (which means they get played regularly). The top tier of songs being 5* and this album has 4 (Intervention, Windowsill, No Cards Go, Antichrist Television Blues). I have 6500 songs on the iPod and 382 of those get 5* so they are in elevated company. Obviously taste is unique to each person and I spend far much time rating songs on my iPod.
Track 9 Windowsill includes the great line "MTV what have you done to me". I think this sums up the attraction of this album, if your staple music diet is met by MTV, then this album is probably a little too different for you!
Incidentally the track I don't like is title track Neon Bible, which managed a paltry 3 stars on my iPod (which actually means I think its ok but don't want to listen to it regularly)!
I am outside of the UK at the moment so could not see them live but I checked out their touring schedule anyway to see if they were playing the UK and they are (see their website for details) but they are all sold out, although I notice a pair of tickets are going for about 100gbp on eBay.
Once this album is released and is more widely heard I think a lot more people will have heard of Arcade Fire in the UK and like them, or alternatively a lot more people on ciao will be convinced I have terrible music taste.
The album is released March 6th, download it, or buy the CD, and enjoy some great music that I am sure won't disappoint.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
There wasn't a whole lot of information about the actal album. You were almost off-topic talking about which songs had what rating on your iPod.

different people, different tastes. what does it matter to me how this album ranks in your ipod, as long as i don't know what it was up against and - even more important - what kind of music you like and what you like about arcade fire? i simply can't relate to your opionion without you giving at least some information concerning this.
How do the Arcade Fire follow-up not just one of the best debut albums ever, but possibly ... more
also one of the best indie albums of all time? Well, Neon Bible is a good place to start. After the success of Funeral, expectations were high for a follow up. Bu...
