I only bought Arcade Fire's new album because I'm going to see them at Leeds Festival in August so I wasn't exactly expecting a lot but when I listened I was pleasantly surprised. By no means is this the type of music you could recommend for everybody but it is a very original and well put together album. The band consists of over 7 members I think and there is a collection of instruments such as violins and and organ which is put to good use. This album is definitely a very unique style of music which is nice to see getting popular in today's usually quite boring mainstream music scene.

Keep The Car Running This is the currently quite successful single that has been released from the album. It has a carefree feel to the song which is a little different to the rest of the album as it is full of strong, emotional songs. This is a nice song to listen to, the first song I heard by them and I liked it.
Intervention This is a good song, my favourite from the album. Sinister lyrics set against a not quite so sinister music in backing. The whole album is full of very meaningful lyrics from the band. 'Working for the church while you family dies, your little baby sister's gonna lose her mind.' It's not exactly easy listening but enjoyable nonetheless.
My Body Is A Cage This is an amazingly powerful song, played on organ. The type of song that would be absolutely amazing live. It has that sort of power that makes you appreciate the power music can have on you. It has quite simple lyrics but is a very well made song.
This album is definitely worth a listen if you are not stuck on listening to one type of music. If you like something a little different then give this a try.
