Holding X while defending automatically "homes" your player at the opponent in possession and then takes defensive action, from simple taps to hit the ball to blatant shirt-pulling. Gamers embraced this Mecca of defending and Konami continuously increased the amount of fouling when employing it, in an effort to diminish its use. Old habits die hard and the only thing that accomplished was to heavily slower the pace of the game, due to the exponential amount of fouls called. For Pro Evolution 6 Konami took a different approach, in simply reducing the effectiveness of the "X defense". ...now there is the old argument about whether fifa or pro evolution is better as a football game, and personally i used to be a fifa fanatic but after playing pro evo 3 became hooked on it. pro evo 5 i found a bit disappointing and was thinking of switching back to licensed fifa when this came out. luckily pro evo have pulled a masterpiece out of their hat with pro evo 6. the gameplay is fantastic and it can be extremely difficult to score goals at times, just like real football. they take into account all aspects of the game, not just graphics and how realistic the players look (cough fifa) and have added all new features into the mix too. for football games fans this is a must buy and those that are fifa fans should at least give this a try; it is probably more difficult to play and not for beginner players, but is extremely addictive...
