Advantages: Classic track 'Bulldozer' & 4 bonus tracks, good production job Disadvantages: By far the worst Machine Head Album let down by weak lyrical content
...'t recomend this album to anyone who hasn't heard of Machine Head, they have produced and provided the music industry with several Jems, but this ain't one of them. For those clasping to new metal with a loving for 'Korn's' childhood oriented lyrics and havent heard this, you may just like it!!!

Advantages: Not overlong at 10 tracks, gets better with each listen. Disadvantages: Opening track not the strongest.
...All the best records take a few listens (at least) to reveal their true nature. On first play this sounded like a typical 2nd album - longer tracks, less up-tempo. A month on this has to be my favourite CD of 2007. Nearly all the 10 tracks have resolved into fantastic, atmospheric (and not always gloomy!) tales of urban life and escape. Great tunes underpin the songs, with the now-trademark steepling guitar riffs standing out most in the choruses. Some not unwelcome echos of The Smiths are to be found in the lyrics, most obviously in the title track, but tracks like Weight of the World and Escape The Nest are really uplifting, the latter also containing the finest moments on the album with its soaring, thrilling chorus. What a live track that promises to be... Recommended!
Ok then, what about the digipak? Well if you like a glossy...

Advantages: The first Moody Blues concept album. Is this what started prog rock? Disadvantages: Perhaps a little dated - but it is 40 years old!
...Isn't life strange? So wrote John Lodge on a later album. This, though, was the one that started the ball rolling, creating a distinctive and unique sound that would become loved and followed for 40 years and three generations of fans. It is appropriate to look back at this album as a new remastering has been issued and the band are starting yet another UK tour in the autumn.
In 2003 Universal Music embarked on a project to re-master the first five of the Moody Blues albums from the original tapes using modern production techniques. They also decided to issue additional tracks, alternative takes and other versions which were not included on the final album.
This is the 2006 deluxe SACD edition.
INTRODUCING THE BAND
The Moody Blues were perhaps predestined for their eventual place in the realms of rock - after all...
