These legends of the West country are best known for their 70s hit Combine Harvester which made No 1 and sold 400,000 copies in 1976. SInce then the wurzels have gone on to release a number of albums. Including never mind the bullocks ere's the Wurzels which was released in 2002.
Im not going to lie, you cannot take this album seriously at all. It is an album of covers, or as the front cover says "wurzelised" hits of oasis, catatonia, Robbie Williams Blur and many more.
Track list
1. Ooh- Aah Just a Little Bit 2. You're Gorgeous 3. Dead From The Waist Down 4. Country House 5. Don't Look Back In Anger 6 . Why Does It Always Rain On Me 7. Tubthumping 8. Come On Santa 9. Rock D.J 10. It wasn't Me
As can be seen from the track listing it contains some extremely well known songs all wurzelised and well quite frankly on the whole have been ruined. But thats the point, if u don't listen to it too seriously it is an entertaining record. You can't expect it to be the best singing or best record you've ever heard, its just a bit of entertainment just like any other wurzel record.
One of the highlights of the album for me is You're Gorgeous, which starts off with a horse neighing and then the rest of the song is clearly aimed at a horse.
Perhaps to enjoy any Wurzel record you have to be from Somerset, everyone from Somerset loves them! I am from Somerset and so naturally like the Wurzels, and so can see the funny side to this record. It is by no means a masterpiece but just an enjoyable funny record.
