Disadvantages: Odd mixture of music on the Uplifting disc

...I will say from the start that I am certainly no expert on classical music. I do often have Classic FM on the radio at home and recently bought their 2 CD set, Voices 2008. This is a compilation containing a selection of vocal pieces from the worlds of choral music and opera. There are pieces in this collection which you would immediately recognise on hearing them, even if their names are not familiar. In the set is a CD of relaxing pieces and a CD of uplifting pieces, so you have the choice of which best suits your mood. The notes which accompany the set are very brief, so here I am adding my own impressions along with information I have found from other sources. Track Listing Relaxing CD 1 Elgar - 'Lux Aeterna'. Advantages: Good Classic Hip-Hop Songs
Disadvantages: None

...As most of you will know, Kiss, the popular radio station and music channel are always bringing out various artist Rap/Hip-Hop and also R'n'B collections. This Hip-Hop classics is one of Kiss's most recent presentations. With 2 discs, there are some great hip-hop classics thrown into this collection. Whether you are a hip-hop fan or not, you will know most, if not all of these hip-hop classics from the 90's and some even earlier. This collection is a 2 disc set, which has 19 songs on each disc. Advantages: Beautiful sound track, relaxing, tells a story

...I'm a star trek fan as you probably guessed if you have seen any other of my reviews but I am also a classical music lover. The fact that the soundtracks to Star Trek are wonderfully Classical is a bonus for me. Generations is my favourite Star Trek film and the soundtrack is not far behind. Jerry Goldsmith has been writing the music for Trek for many years and has built up a wonderful reputation and I thought this was his music too but it is in fact down to Dennis McCarthy. He starts the soundtrack with an almost hopeful piece where, in the film, we see the credits. The piece is heavy on brass and symbols and really gets you in the mood of the film.
