Advantages: some great songs one of their best albums Disadvantages: lack of memorable choruses may put some people off
This is thinlizzys 11th studio album and is one of the string of excellent albums lizzy had during the 74-83 period where almost all of there best work took place. This album itself was released in 1981 the band at that time was as follows:
Brian Downey -drums, percussion
Scott Gorham -lead guitars, guitars
snowy white-lead guitar
Phil lynott -bass guitar, vocals
Lizzy would go member changes throughout the bands career and I believe they still play today although it never will be real thinlizzy without Phil lynott who died January 4th 1986 of what I think if I remember correctly was a heroin overdose.
Track listing
1. angel of death (9/10)
Starts off with this deep bass sound and a bit of keyboard, then the guitars and the drums kick in with authority. As soon as lynotts vocals kick in the guitar changes to the main ...
ThinLizzy`s second live album, whilst widely regarded as inferior to 1978s Live and Dangerous, is still an important document of the last years of the band as a live act, and not a bad album in its own right. In 1978 the band were arguably one of the biggest live attractions on the circuit, by the release of Life/Live in 1983, it was apparent that the band would not be around much longer, poor health was an issue for Lynott and the band seemed to find it harder to write the classic rock hits that had got them to the top in the first place.
Out of the nineteen songs on this double album, only 5 appeared on the previous live album, so that in itself gives good value for money. The big selling point of the album is the "old boys reunion" approach. As well as the current band members, Phil Lynott, Brian Downey, Scott Gorham and relative ...

Album Notes
These Irish rockers had been perfecting their melodic brand of hard rock long before the galloping "The Boys Are Back in Town" catapulted them onto every car radio in the U.S. Led by singer-bassist Phil Lynott's throaty delivery, the band often achieved a soulful and ringing sound (also thanks in no small part to the band's use of twin lead guitars, whose soaring lines lifted more than a few of Lynott's tunes out of the morass) that was a much-needed counterpart to the sound of the band's more lumpish pounders. NIGHT LIFE serves as a blueprint for the band's breakthrough album, JAILBREAK, and reveals a hard-working unit poised to achieve the artistic highs that Lynott so often aspired to (but previously failed to reach). The album opener, "She Knows," offers the best of what the band offers: tightly wound dualing guitars, a chugging backbeat, and Lynott emoting as if he's singing a spiritual. Elsewhere, the ruminative "Still in Love With You" reveals a more romantic underbelly than one might suspect from Lynott and company. Clearly the work of a band in forward motion, NIGHT LIFE remains a too-often overlooked piece of the band's catalogue.
