With its repetitive lyrics and Jamaican vibes, Hey Baby was always going to be a hit for NoDoubt when they returned from their sabbatical in 2001. Taken from the Rock Steady album, Hey Baby is infectious to say the least, to the point that it often bypasses its novelty and becomes rather annoying. Still, if you are in the mood for a sing along, I recommend this highly.

Bathwater is arguably the only track on the album that requires an acquired taste. Beginning with the ?New Orleans funeral bass?, the sombre tone is soon demolished by the thumping beat and Gwen?s typically distinctive vocals, with the rather mellow verse emerging as a high tempo burst of life. This CD has all of NoDoubts singles which have been released since they broke into the UK charts in 1992. No matter what your taste in music this album is mixed with toe-tapping, energetic, and the odd reggae and ballad thrown in for good measure.
The CD kicks off with "I'm Just a Girl" - which is a girl power song, with a lot of electric guitar. It seems to continually build up and build up until it explodes into an infectious chorus. Gwen Steffani sings about how hard it is to be a girl in todays society.
A cover of Talk Talk's number 3 hit from the 80's follows. "It's My Life" but has been given a modern face lift in a way only NoDoubt can do. An mix of electric guitar and drums compliment Gwen's voice spectacularly.

The album Tragic Kingdom is truly amazing!NoDoubt have come up trumps with this offering of musical wizardrey. Such tracks as "Don't Speak" & "Im just a girl" are brilliant and some of the best I have heard in a long time. The album is made up of rocky tunes and mindblowing lyrics which really make your head spin. I have listened to this album over and over again and I never get tired of it, infact, it seems to just get better and better! I would recommend this album to those who are already fans of NoDoubt but also to those who have never heard of them as this is a type of music nearly everyone will enjoy, and continue to enjoy for a long time to come! I take my hat off to NoDoubt as they have really out done themselves with this musical offering.(Also I went to see them live, and they were outstanding!) ...
