...MaryBlack is the best folk singer of the 80's and 90's and her work is so excellent. speaking with the angel is her best work by far and I just love listening to it. The best tracks are Cut by Wire which is quite dark but at the same time a brilliant track, big trip to portland (which I have seen her perform live) which is a great upbeat tune with fantastic words, one not to miss, MaryBlack has such talent and such a voice, she is the best female Irish folk singer, Broken Wings is a beatiful track. This is one not to miss....

Advantages: great funky groovy beats with great instrumental work Disadvantages: none what I can see
...Who would of thought it? The wild Chili Peppers teaming up with funk mastermind George Clinton: serious silliness meets silly seriousness. Clinton has further funkified their previous raw "rock out with your SOCK out" sound by spicing up the songs with well-placed horn blurts and by altering the vocals (at times one can hardly tell if it's Anthony) and guitar style (check the action on "Black Eyed Blonde" and the funky "Yertle The Turtle."). Clinton doesn't overshadow the Chili's thump-funk, he gives it direction, using his background to focus the groove, and using his studio wizardry to expand their frontiers. Great tracks on this album are "The Brother Cup" (who's the little dude?), "Hollywood (Africa)," the Meters/ Nevilles staple "Jungle Man," and Sly's "If You Want Me To Stay." If you play one you'll want to play them all...

Advantages: imaginative celtic rock. Disadvantages: dont expect the Gary Moore of the blues days.
...Gary Moore became best known for his blues period in the 1990s but we should remember that he has moved through a wide range of musical styles, all based in the rock format, but all with very distinct flavours. After learning his trade with Skid Row and a brief stint with the young Thin Lizzy, as well as recording as the Gary Moore Band, the guitarist spent a number of years in Jazz rock band Colosseum II. Following that solo albums and another stint with Thin Lizzy resulted in the now famous Black Rose album, and the single Parisiene Walkways. A long on off friendship with Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott comes to an end with Lynotts death in 1986, and this album was released the following year. The songs seem to take Moore back to his roots and is considered by many to be his best non-blues album, a flurry of which were to follow...
