"i've had some good days
And I've had some bad days
I know about heartbreak
I didn't think that I could make it
I know how it feels to have money more
I have had this album for a while now and i completely forgot about it until the other day when i was looking through my CD collection for some more CDs to put on while i was revising and i came across this one. Now my music tastes have drastically changed since i bought this CD from Rand B to Indie, but i thought i would put it on anyway. I have to say that i still lovd it as much as i did when i 1st bought it. The songs are mainly very mellow and when ou listen to them have brilliant lyrics.
Mary J Blige is an established american R and B singer who has released such hits as "No more drama", the title track to this album, "Dance with me" and "Family Affair" all which appear on this album.
The cover of the CD is fab. I personally think that Mary looks stunning and these photos continue throughout the cover.
The songs (obviously the bit you all want to know about!) They are all fantastic. Im not going to tell you about all of them because otherwise they will be ruined for you!
My favourite track is "Rainy Dayz" which has a very simple tune and is also very easy to dance to! However it isnt a stereotypical Rand B song with pumping loud base lines, it is very chilled and relaxed with brilliant lyrics which for a change you can actually hear (makes a chenge for rand b for you to actually be able to hear what they are singing clearly!)
Other tracks include:1. Love 2. Family Affair - this is a brilliant dance song, just get down and dance to this one.... 3. Steal away 4.Crazy games 5. PMS - close to all girls hearts!!!definately a good one for the men of this world to listen to.....perhaps will make you understand why women are grumpy at "that time of the month".....a veery odd subject for a song, but very well done to a very simple backing, and makes you realise that these famous women go through the same things as normal people! Very clever lyrics! 6. No more drama - a very heartfelt song.......just listen to the lyrics.....quite moving.... 7.Keep it moving 8. Destiny 9. where ive been - i like this one. its quite unusual, tells the story of Marys life (well i presume its about her life) of how she grew up and then became who she is today 10. beautiful day - very happy song, slow and chilled out but a good one to listen to if you just need the smile putting back on your face! 11.dance for me 12.flying away 13.never been 14. 2U 15. in the meantime 16. Forever no more - poem - odd for an artist to put a poem on an album but this definately works.....very poignant poem...listen to it! 17. testimony a good way to end the album...on a chilled not sums up the whole album really....... "i've had some good days And I've had some bad days I know about heartbreak I didn't think that I could make it I know how it feels to have money I know how it feels to be broke And I can tell you 'bout lonely 'Cause I've been there before" it definately sums up the whole album which is full of songs about, growing up, lonliness, heartbreak, love and joy!
a fantastic mix of songs sung by an amazing singer with a gospel like voice. A definate for any CD collection!
(This review refers to the original album “NoMoreDrama” not the re-packaged one, which features extra remix tracks)
As you may know I have already written a review on one of the most influential artists of all time, now I am back reviewing her 4th album “NoMoreDrama” which includes the fantastic hit “Family Affair”
Who am I talking about? None other than Ms MaryJBlige. A fantastic singer, performer and songwriter. She has already had major success with her previous album, and has been around since 1994, where we saw a fresh face, now we see MaryJ and recognise her as an extremely influential artist. Her first release from the album “Family Affair” was one of her biggest hits ever and her new single “NoMoreDrama” is a masterpiece and hopefully will give her ...
Advantages: Some good remixes and the price Disadvantages: Not many, some fillers but i suppose you get that with every album
A Girl Part 1 - Usher, Loon & P Diddy. Great chorus and catchy lyrics from usher, definately one for the ladies but a really popular tune.
Unfoolish - Ashanti & Notorious BIG. Loads of radio play this one, mixing Biggies old tune, i think the video got more airplay than the original and another cult classic
Dance With Me/Peaches And Cream - 112, Ludacris & Beanie Segal. Great mix with the two best tunes from the 112 album. Great r&b club tracks and more cult classics
NoMoreDrama - MaryJBlige. Compared to what has come before on this album, the Mary track falls just short. Its a mid tempo track which is just middle of the road
So complete - Cherri Dennis. I can basically repeat the same as above, not really much going on
Notorious - Lil Kim, Notorious BIG & P Diddy. Nowhere near the original in my opinion but my brother loves it ...

Album Notes
This version contains a P. Diddy/Mario Winans remix of the song, "No More Drama." Personnel includes: Mary J. Blige (vocals); Eve, P. Diddy, Pharrell Williams, Lenny Kravitz, Marshane Smith, Ja Rule, Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliot. Producers include: Bryan Peguero, Chucky Thompson, Dame Grease, Dr. Dre, Floyd Howard. "He Think I Don't Know" won the 2003 Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. From P Diddy to Lenny Kravitz, a plethora of producers and guest stars graces this updated, remix-added version of Mary J. Blige's 2001 NO MORE DRAMA, a situation usually signaling a dearth of creativity on behalf of the featured artist. Fortunately that's not the case here. Blige is fully in control, from a lyrical reworking of the '70s Al Green classic "Simply Beautiful" entitled "PMS," which could well become an anthem for women suffering from those disabling symptoms, to the Dr. Dre-produced "Family Affair," in which this classic R&B singer self-confidently modernizes her image for the J-Lo generation. "He Think I Don't Know" is vintage Blige, her roots firmly in late-'70s deep soul, while the autobiographical "Where I've Been" features Eve paying homage to a woman who's struggled through poverty and drug addiction and come out the other side a stronger person. This is a masterful effort that finds Mary J. Blige successfully updating her sound while retaining the musical depth that got her where she is today.
