Having read a lot about the George in the Rough guide to Dublin, we thought we would give it a try. The "Pink" bars in Dublin are not numerous, but we gathered that this was one of them. Located on South St George Street, central- near Temple Bar.
WHAT'S IT LIKE?
The pink neon lighting high up on the walls of the more modern bit gives the game away a bit- a pink coffee cup and the mention of the word "polari" might suggest that this is a gay bar.
There are two parts to the George, the older more traditional Pub and the part that has been done up to be a "bar"..being older and more traditional we opted to go in the pub bit. You have to get used to the dim lighting when you first enter.
Being women entering a busy pub can be a bit traumatic..but not in the George. The atmosphere is mellow and quiet. And the music was muted. I ...

Adequate Seven were a UK band that use to often get misplaced in the genre bracket of 'Skacore', however their sound was always far more than this in truth; bridging the divide between Funk and Hardcore, fusing the two in order to produce their own unique brand of music. I feel that the band were always at their best when they opted to show off their more Hardcore side, however the band do this less so on their second album 'Here On Earth' in favour of exploring their funkier nature. Unfortunately in the December of 2006, having been around for 6 years and after playing over 500 gigs the band decided to call it a day. This was a great loss for UK music as Adequate Seven were an exceptional live band; however their music still lives on today through the records that they released.
