...Right, a review on smoke alarms, done one already, but these are different. These type have all the advantages of a battery one, but are also mains powered. They are also known as Hard wired. There are three types:- Ionisation: Ionisation smoke alarms are particularly suited for fast-flaming fires (used eg. on landings) The vast majority of household smoke alarms are this type. Optical: Optical smoke alarms respond fast to smouldering fires (used in living rooms, bed rooms and hallways) Heat: Heat alarms are used in kitchens, the garage and dusty rooms. These are not set off by cooking fumes etc. It matters not to us, the main thing is that they are still small, flat to the ceiling, and white so they blend in,(some even replace the ceiling rose) and they do the job. ...-loathing, feelings of confusion, Smoke Or Fire preserve the anarchy of punk in Filter. The lyrics are positively poignant throughout the album: often intoxicating as a result of the animated guitaring and drumming that blesses the tracks one by one. There is no substitute for passion and emotion: this band displays these qualities in abundance. Disappointingly, given the quality of the record, is the short running time (24 minutes) which gives the impression that the cohesive 12-track album comes and goes, yet, if you look past the brevity, Above The City leaves the listener feeling content; absorbed; exhilarated; as the music rolls out of the stereo and the anticipation of each new song leaves the palms sweaty and the fibrillation of muscle fibres.
