I'm not a seasoned flyer. I have only ever flown on holiday twice in my whole sad little life.
I must say that AirFrance did a very good job when I flew with them from Newcastle to Paris CDG and back.
On the way there, they were polite, all crew spoke English, and the flight was good.
It was coming back however, that they really impressed me. We got lost in CDG. A bit stupid of us really, but it is MASSIVE and there was a security scare which meant it took ages to get through the gates. In the end, we missed our flight. It was very traumatic. We had a two year old with us who had been on the go since before breakfast so was getting a bit fractious. We then had to go back through control, along with everyone else who got caught up in the security scare. It was very busy, and we had visions of us having to stay in the airport overnight ...
Advantages: Customer service Disadvantages: Almost none
problems, especially at Paris-CDG, which is a very busy place. Overall, I experienced one delay, and this was due to an airport-related problem and not an AirFrance one. The check-ins closed on time and this company seems to have punctuality running all the way through it.

Safety on board (depending on the aircraft) is made up of emergency exits at the front and back of the plane, and also in the middle, leaving over the wings. Additionally, oxygen masks will fall down from above the seats in an emergency and lights on the floor in the aisle will light up guiding you to your nearest exit. Although the airline safety procedure is boring after having been on many flights, it is very important to understand the procedures should anything bad happen during your flight. My wife and I flew with AirFrance in Economy, back in November 08 from California to UK, its an experience I wish to forget!!! From their promotional material we expected a good experience with decent levels of comfort and customer services. But this is what we found....
The Good Points first:
Well they were cheap, very cheap actually. We booked through a travel website and got a really good price.
Thats about all the good things I can think of and the fact we got back without crashing!
The Bad Points:
Firstly we booked about 6 months in advance but 3 weeks before we left they notified us that they would no longer be providing a non stop flight from Los Angeles to London, instead we would have to stop over in Paris increasing our travel time by 4 hours. No refund was offered and to be honest at that short time it wouldn't have ...
