...-performed and fluid love song. Sadly the female singer with the honey-dripping tones is not credited on this CD.
There's Harry James and his Orchestra with a waltz time piece called Carnival of Vencie, with some trumpet playing that is straight out of the trumpet section of a classical orchestra.
There's Moonlight in Vermont sung by Ella Fitzgerald. If you haven't heard her sing, hear this song and you'll know why Ella Fitzgerald is so well-loved to this day by people from all over the year.

Advantages: Brian Wilson's best work Disadvantages: Originally released in Mono
...It is easy to overlook the contribution of Brian Wilson to 20th Century popular music - most modern rock critics explain the explosion of pop music in the sixties almost exclusively in terms of The Beatles and The Roilling Stones with occasional nods to the influence of Motown. ...With worldwide sales topping 100million, a place in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame and having an album as great as this under their belts it is safe to so that the Beach Boys are true musical legends.
Their sunny, fresh Calafornian sound has its origins way back in the 1950s when Brian Wilson taught his younger brothers to sing. Growing up in the Los Angeles in the suburb of Hawthorne; they spent a lot of time learning to harmonise; vocals are of course the most important element in the Beach Boys sound. It wasn't long before their cousin Mike Love joined the group. They spent their time singing carols or singing along to songs on the radio. The line-up was completed in 1961 when Al Jardine, Brian's friend from high school, joined the group. They settled on the name of the Pendletones and set about trying to record songs. Their first...
